§ TICKETING TERMS
Ticketing, resale & payouts.
What you are buying when you buy a ticket, how face-value resale works, and how venues get paid. Written to match exactly what the app enforces, so the policy and the product cannot drift.

§ 00 · IN PLAIN ENGLISH
A HOTMESS ticket is a licence to attend an event run by a venue or promoter — not a physical object. It lives in the app as a rotating QR code. You can resell it to another member at or below what you paid, never for profit; when you do, your QR is killed and a fresh one is issued to the buyer, so a ticket can never be used twice. The venue receives its money — minus a platform fee and the card-processing cost — once it has connected a payout account. HOTMESS only ever takes its fee and the unavoidable Stripe cost. We do not mark tickets up and we do not sell your data.
§ 01 · WHAT YOU ARE BUYING
A revocable licence to attend the specified event, subject to the organiser's entry conditions and the law. Tickets are personal to your HOTMESS account until and unless resold through the in-app resale market. The price shown is the price you pay — there is no buyer-side booking fee on top.
§ 02 · AGE & ENTRY
Many HOTMESS events are 18+ and adult in nature. You must complete age verification before purchase; checkout is blocked until a verified age is on file, and your verification status is recorded against the order for the organiser and for Online Safety Act compliance. Each ticket admits one entry unless the event allows re-entry — a second presentation of the same QR shows "already scanned" with the original time. Door staff see only what they need to admit you: validity, tier, and the first-visit / plus-one / age-verified flags — never your identity or history.
§ 03 · RESALE — FACE VALUE, NO TOUTING
Resale exists so a member who can no longer attend can return value to another member — not so anyone can profit from scarcity. A ticket may be listed only at or below the price paid; the server rejects anything higher. Only the current holder can list, only while the ticket is live, and only where the organiser allows resale. On a sale the seller's QR is voided and a new one issued to the buyer. Buying, selling or transferring tickets outside the app is prohibited and may void the ticket without refund — and the rotating QR makes off-platform resale unsafe for buyers anyway.
§ 04 · REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
Tickets are generally non-refundable once issued — a live event on a specified date is exempt from the 14-day cooling-off right under UK consumer law, so your route to recover value is in-app resale at face value. You are entitled to a full refund if the event is cancelled, postponed to a date you cannot attend, or materially changed (headline act, date, or venue). Refunds return to your original payment method; claims should be made within 30 daysof the change. Genuine accidental duplicate purchases are refunded on request.
§ 05 · HOW VENUES GET PAID
To receive ticket money, connect a Stripe payout account in your partner dashboard; this runs Stripe's KYC and creates your seller identity. Until onboarding is complete, sales accrue as pending payouts but are not transferred. For each sale: net = gross − platform fee − card processing, where card processing is passed through at cost and every founding tier carries a 0% platform fee. Settled sales are paid out on a regular cycle and typically reach your account within 1–2 banking days, subject to Stripe's clearing times. If you refund a buyer or lose a chargeback, the amount — including any fee already paid out — is recouped from your balance or future payouts. We may pause a payout where there is suspected fraud or a legal hold, and will tell you why.
§ 06 · CONSENT, RECORDS & DATA
At purchase we record your acceptance of these terms, the policy version in force, the timestamp, and your age-verification snapshot. Door staff and organisers receive only the minimum needed to run the event. Payment data is handled by Stripe; HOTMESS never stores card numbers, and we do not sell personal data. You can withdraw marketing consents at any time in Settings.
